It was my understanding that there would be no math

September 26th, 17:38 The Des Moines Register Poll came out this weekend.  The Register did not have a good week as their reporting on Carson King's teenage tweets seemed to send Iowans over the edge. Still, the Register Poll is iconic, and I love the extra minutiae. It comes off a National Qunnipac poll that put Warren up 14 points, and showed her ahead of Joe Biden for the first time. Nationwide: Warren 27% Biden 25% Sanders 16% Buttigieg 7% Harris 3% I was in Massachusetts incidentally this week, and was told by one person that Warren, will be another Hillary, a candidate with too much baggage to beat Trump.  I think in this day and age, though, we are hypercritical of our local politicians. So, with no further ado, here's the numbers: in Iowa Warren 22% Biden 20% Sanders 11% Buttigieg 9% Harris 6% Booker, Klobuchar 3% Gabbard, Steyer, O'Rourke, Yang 2% Bullock, Castro, Delaney 1% Bennet, Williamson <1% None of the Above 2% Unsure 14%

The Third Debate: "This is why Presidential debates are becoming unwatchable."

It’s been a busy month but I feel committed to this thing so let’s blog about the third debate. My favorite part was Final Jeopardy where Alex asked who composed “Transcendental Etudes”. Seriously though, this was supposed to be the one that had all the heavyweights on the same stage together for the first time. What we got was a reminder that this Party is getting old. In place of the youth of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama was Metamucil and Matlock. Oh, I suppose it wasn’t so bad, but I will remember this debate for Bernie Sanders's constant hacking and Joe Biden telling parents to have the record player on at night. Vinyl will outsell Compact Discs in 2019 for the first time since 1986, so let's not be too harsh on Joe.  Besides, from what I can tell, hipsters love Joe Biden.  Not you, of course, reading this while wearing a Biden button and listening to Deafheaven.  I mean, the other hipsters. This guy's dream ticket is Joe Biden and Father John Mist
